The Second Event of the 2013 Consejo Triple Crown was Bocce. The matches were held on Saturday, March 9th. All teams played at the improvised courts set up at the Consejo Shores Community Center. There were a lot of comments by players how much more they enjoyed having everyone playing in the same location.

The first teams took to the courts at the new, earlier starting time of 8AM. There was no shade on the courts and it was already hot and humid. The 'on deck' teams sat and waited in whatever shade they could find.

By about 11am we were down to the final four. John and Joyce lost to Mike and Janet in the winners bracket. Jeff and Ginny defeated Willy and Linda, then won by default against John and Joyce to top the Looser's Bracket. Early in that match Joyce began to feel the effects of the sun and heat and was forced to withdraw.

Congratulations to Mike and Janet, who claim to never have played Bocce before yet managed to remain undefeated for the day after defeating Jeff and Ginny in the Final Match.
